About Ride Splits

Carpooling for your everyday commute.

Ride Splits helps everyday carpools. Riders and drivers set up commuting plans, agree on the price, and share the ride at a cost below owning a car alone.

Our story

It started with traffic.

Founded at Cal State San Bernardino, with guidance from faculty advisors. Live since January 26, 2026.

The problem

Rideshare wasn't built for commuting.

$35

per taxi ride

times

10

rides a week

equals

$350

a week

$1,400 a month. Just to commute.

Average taxi fare, Riverside to San Bernardino, 14 miles. 2 rides a day, 5 days a week. Market context: global ridesharing projected ~$526B by 2034 (IMARC Group, 2026).

  • Too expensive

High prices, one trip at a time.

  • Hard to trust

Little control, a new stranger every ride.

  • Not built for routine

No set driver, no set time.

Our answer

We sell the commute.

Tell a driver where you need to be, when, and which days. They quote a weekly or monthly price for the round trip.

Chat with a Tuesday and Thursday commute plan request waiting for the driver's price
