Built into every ride

Protection before, during and after the trip.

  • Verified campus community

Sign-ups start with a university email, so everyone on Ride Splits is part of the campus community.

  • Background checks both ways

Drivers and riders go through background checks, with more review through partner organizations. Drivers also add a license and vehicle documents.

  • Trip details up front

Pickup, drop-off, time and the split are visible before anyone confirms.

  • Emergency button

An emergency safety button is available on the ride screen during every trip.

  • In-app reporting

Report a problem right from the ride screen. Safety reports are reviewed by people.

  • Community standards

Harassment, unsafe driving and no-shows are grounds for losing access. Repeat issues can cost access.

Quick tips

Good habits for every trip.

For riders

  • Tell a friend where you're going and when you expect to arrive.
  • Wait for your driver somewhere public and well lit.
  • Trust your instincts. If a ride doesn't feel right, cancel before pickup.
  • Keep messages and payments inside the app.

For drivers

  • Keep your car in safe, clean, working condition.
  • Mount your phone and don't text while driving.
  • Keep riders' personal details private.
  • Report riders who break the rules so repeat issues can cost access.
